Spic Macay:

The Society for Promotion of Indian Music, Art and Culture amongst Youth has been promoting classical music, dance and art among young people in school sand colleges across the country. Eminent artistes visit the school and perform as well as hold workshops for children. Various renowned artistes who have shared their talent with the students in simple but brilliant performances n the past have been Shri Habib Tanvir, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Smt Leela Samson to name just a few. Craftsmen, folk dancers, littérateurs have delighted us with their expositions.    Top
Spicmacay: Shri Hari Prasad Chaurasia

Green Brigade:

A voluntary group of students who go righteously ballistic with their green consciousness and advocacy be it rehabiliting poachers in Ranthambore , selling manure from the school vermi composting pit, advocating water harvesting in the neighbourhood and other schools, saying no to plastic and fire crackers. A natural side of sensitivity to the environment is sensitivity to others where in students are invoved in teaching and spending time with children from back grounds less priviledged: children of war ravaged families of Kashmir, children of the migrant construction workers who study in school after school hours ie the Balwadi.     Top

DEED

An acronym for debate, elocution, extempore and drama, DEED is a highly popular weekly activity where children compete section-wise in areas fun yet challenging like, Just a Minute, Logic- buster quiz, composing original music scores, Dumb Charades, Twenty Questions to name a few. It has evolved into a multi-dimensional initiative that has received much appreciation from parents and children alike.    Top

Bridging The Gap:

International Award for Young People:
(Formerly known as The Duke of Edinburgh Award)

As the handbook for the award says, the International Award Programme presents young people with an individual challenge. Through a balanced, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities, young people, between the ages of 14 and 25, are encouraged to develop qualities of self reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and to society in general. Is open to students aged 14 and above. This gives them the opportunity to undertake expeditions, participate in community service and advanced sports.    Top

Perceptions

We, at the Shri Ram School, feel that an individual's perceptions define not only the individual but also the society he or she is a part of. It is a symbiotic relationship. These perceptions need to be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Out of this thought process was devised the programme, we call, 'Perceptions.' In this programme, through discussions, activities, theatre and a study of classics, we hope to facilitate the growth of our students and enable them to make informed choices on issues, which will be essential to their progress. This programme has been successfully runing for two years.   Top
