The Shri Ram School is a progressive, child centered, co-educational private school, committed to providing quality education for all its pupils. Established in 1988, it began with the pre-primary section and with a class being added every year, it now proudly spans three campuses in the National Capital Region of India, New Delhi and Gurgaon, offering an alternate and unique educational experience to children age-groups Nursery to Class 12.

The Shri Ram School provides opportunities and a positive environment in which children are encouraged to achieve their fullest potential. Organisation of School:

            

The Shri Ram School, Vasant Vihar Campus in New Delhi is a junior school from classes Kindergarten called Upvan (children of age 5+) to Class 5, both mainstream and special educational needs.

After Class 5, students automatically graduate to the Senior School Campus known as The Shri Ram School, Moulsari Campus, DLF City 3, Gurgaon, Haryana. The senior school campus takes the students up to class 12 from where they graduate through either of the Indian School Certificate (ISC), International Baccalaureate (IB) or National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) options.

The Shri Ram School Vasant Vihar /Moulsari is thereby split over two states of the NCR and represents a one full school K to 12 with Nursery.

The Shri Ram School, Aravali on the other hand is a full school on a single campus, from K to 12 with Nursery. Children enter at the Nursery level, called Pravesh Vatika at the age 4+ and graduate to leave school in Class 12 through the Indian School Certificate exam (ISC). The school is located in Hamilton Court Complex in DLF City 4, Gurgaon, Haryana and has both mainstream and special educational needs curriculum.

In both schools class sizes are limited to a favorable student teacher ratio. Full time co-curricular staff, counsellors, special educators and medical staff gives support to a committed, nurturing and dynamic academic faculty.Top


Houses:

The school is divided into four houses - Vasundhara, Sagar, Srishti and Himgiri. Each child is allotted a house when they join and inter house activities form an important part of the school calendar. Each house symbolises our belief in the richness of SHRI, which is a richness of ideas, thoughts and feelings.

 
 
Vasundhara (Red) reinforces our belief that each individual is unique, with amazing strengths and with overwhelming potential.
 
Sagar (Blue) inspires us to be full of compassion and love and to have faith as deep as the Oceans.
 
Srishti(Green) embodies all aspects of Creation, and we hope all our students would celebrate the rich diversity of the Universe and of our society.
 
Himgiri (Yellow) embodies strength and resolution and urges us to have the courage of our convictions and be true to ourselves. Top

Student life:

The Shri Ram school does not believe in corporal punishment. We endeavour to instill a sense of self discipline in the children and in this respect, the students and the staff have evolved a code of conduct relating to people, work, and the school environment. The Student Council in the Middle/Senior school assists the staff team on matters of discipline, and are actively involved in the planning and implementation of school initiatives.

Students learn how to handle the freedom they are bestowed with, with responsibility which turns them into responsible citizens enjoying to the hilt the rich co curricular offerings and opportunities the school provides. Top

Admission:
Elementary school:

Admission to Nursery i.e. Vatika at the Vasant Vihar Campus follows a well laid out criterion as per directive of the Delhi State Government. Registration is also available on-line. The Bulletin of Information is available at the school reception. The age cut-off criteria is that the child should be three and a half years ‘plus’ on the 31st of March of the year onto which she/he is about to embark.

Admission to Nursery i.e. Pravesh Vatika at the Aravali Campus follows a procedure involving an interaction with the parents.The Registration Form along with the Bulletin of Information is available at the school reception around mid October.


Other entry levels:

Students are admitted to the school through the year depending on the vacancies arising in any class. Subject to vacancies and certain rules related to the board classes i.e. 9/10 and 11/12, applicants for the Junior/Senior school are called for an assessment and an interview. Application forms along with the Bulletin of Information are available at the school reception.

Student Council:

The Student Council has simple structure at the junior school level. At senior school council comprises representatives of the four Houses, NIOS, Sports, Editorial and Activities arenas. The process is a democratic one wherein lists of nominees are generated by the staff and student body separately. Once a consensus is reached, the nominees begin campaigning for their posts which culminates in a nerve wracking Face to Face with the student body. Polling follows soon after and students staff participate in the counting process and at the end of a three week process, we have winners. The following is the structure of the Council:




Intranet:

Shri Connect is The Shri Ram School’s web based intranet. It not only provides dynamic content to webportal, it forms the bedrock of all data based information on staff, students, academic related areas and non –academic related areas. It marks attendance, monitors social and academic progress, captures activities and events over the year and communicates to parents, students and ex students through the webportal. It is currently in the second phase of its development wherein administrative and finance modules are being made available for use.
