Junior School

Grades 3 – 5

As children grow, so does their curiosity, independence, and sense of responsibility. The junior school years provide rich opportunities to inquire, collaborate, and take ownership of learning — preparing students for Senior School and guiding them in the years ahead.

Our Approach to Teaching

Interactive, experiential and hands-on

Teaching supports students as they move from guided exploration towards greater independence, ownership and confidence in their learning.

Learning is interactive, experiential and hands-on, encouraging students to actively engage with ideas rather than passively receive information. Through group engagements, house activities, collaborative projects and clubs, students develop essential skills in research, communication, teamwork and problem-solving.

Cross-curricular learning experiences enrich understanding and help students make meaningful connections across disciplines.

How Learning Happens

Confident, self-directed learners

Children in Grades 3–5 learn through inquiry, exploration and active participation. They learn by collaborating with peers, engaging in hands-on experiences, conducting investigations, solving problems and reflecting on their learning. Curiosity, creativity and independent thinking are encouraged, helping students become confident and self-directed learners.

Outstation trips in Grades 4 and 5 take learning beyond school, exposing students to the diverse cultures, traditions and heritage of the country. Students also participate in Social Initiatives and Environmental Consciousness programmes, developing empathy, environmental awareness and a sense of responsible citizenship.

Through these varied experiences, learners build resilience, adaptability, intellectual flexibility and the confidence to contribute meaningfully in an ever-evolving world.
