ISC Programme
A defining stage in a learner's journey

At The Shri Ram School, we offer the Indian School Certificate (ISC) programme for Classes XI and XII, a balanced and forward-looking curriculum prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). Offered after the ICSE or an equivalent qualification, this two-year programme culminates in the ISC examination at the end of Class XII and prepares students for higher education pathways in India and around the world.
The Senior School years mark a defining stage in a learner's academic journey. At this level, students begin to make informed choices about future fields of study while developing greater independence, responsibility and intellectual maturity. The programme is designed to nurture critical thinking, analytical ability and academic depth, while supporting students in exploring their interests and career aspirations with confidence and purpose.
The ISC curriculum combines academic rigour with flexibility, enabling students to specialise in chosen disciplines while maintaining a balanced and holistic approach to learning. It emphasises conceptual understanding, research-oriented inquiry and analytical thinking, encouraging learners to engage deeply with ideas and apply their knowledge across varied contexts. Through a blend of theoretical study, practical application and independent research, students develop the ability to analyse information critically, evaluate perspectives thoughtfully and communicate ideas effectively.

Assessment for Learning
A rigorous assessment framework.
The assessment framework for the ISC programme integrates internal evaluation with external board examinations conducted by CISCE at the end of Class XII. Internal assessments include project work, practical examinations and subject-specific coursework that encourage application, research and deeper conceptual understanding. The final board examinations assess subject proficiency, analytical ability and conceptual clarity.
Beyond academics, students participate in a wide range of experiences that contribute to their overall growth and development. Leadership opportunities through clubs, councils and house systems encourage initiative, teamwork and responsibility. Community engagement and environmental initiatives nurture empathy and social awareness, while career guidance programmes, university counselling sessions and mentorship opportunities help students make informed academic and professional choices.
Through this comprehensive and academically rigorous programme, students develop the confidence, discipline and intellectual maturity required to thrive in higher education and future careers — equipped with the skills, values and global perspective to contribute meaningfully to an evolving world.
